2026 General Election
Election day: November 3, 2026. Mail-in ballot tracking from the State Board's reports, as of October 25, 2026.
Skipjack counts mail-in ballots, not votes: the request a voter makes, the ballot the State Board sends, the envelope the State Board receives back, and — during the canvass, which starts after election day — the ballots accepted and counted. As of October 25, 2026, 151,709 have been accepted. Certified turnout percentages are published by the State Board after certification and are not yet part of this page.
Mail-in returns against earlier elections
9 days before election day, 45% of the mail-in ballots sent had come back: ahead of the 2022 general (44%) and behind the 2024 general (57%). Each election is lined up by days before its own election day; a general election always falls on a Tuesday, so the weekdays line up too.

The earlier elections' daily reports were saved as the board posted them by the maryland_git_scraping project; the press room keeps only each election's last. "Received in all" is the last report of the canvass. A few days have no saved report; the chart draws straight across them.
