2024 General Election: same-day registration

2024 General Election turnout. The State Board's final unofficial same-day report, dated November 5, 2024.

Maryland lets an eligible resident register and vote on the same day at an early-voting center and, since a 2018 constitutional amendment, at their polling place on election day. A registered voter who has moved can also update their address and vote. The State Board's same-day reports count both groups: new registrants and address changes (voters already registered who changed their address). In the 2024 general election, 57,902 people registered and voted on the same day, 42,931 of them on election day, and 7,529 registered voters changed their address and voted.

These are the board's unofficial counts, printed "Unofficial" on every sheet. No certified report counts same-day registration, so this page shows them for past elections too. The sheets say they leave out mail-in voters, and that provisional applications filled in by hand are not included (those printed from the electronic pollbooks are).

The sheets print no election-day column for address changes. Their address-change total is 9 higher than the early-voting days add up to; the board's sheet does not say which day those fall on.

Party is the one the voter registered with or already had. The board's by-party sheet counts 1 fewer new registrant than its by-county sheet, and nothing printed in either says why; the other tables on this page follow the county sheet.

A county the board's sheet leaves out had no same-day registrations or address changes, and shows zero.

The board prints each district county by county; a district's figures are its counties' rows summed.
